New Semester, New Look:Youth in Art

Youth, a byword of vitality, rejuvenates our campus at the beginning of the new semester after a silent winter. At 6:20 in the early morning, the sound of flute from the Student Center waked the day. Morning training of a new semester kicked off among the troupe members who had already got up. Chinese folk music, western music, singing, opera...various sound converged, unfolding a scene of a vibrant spring.

In another room of the Student Center , a tongue twister and Guankou(a special skill of reciting or singing a piece of a song or speech in one breath in the performance of folk arts) exercise was taking place in Quyi (Chinese folk art forms; including ballad singing, story telling, comic dialogues, clapper talks, cross talks, etc.) Club members. A round of practice makes them panting. “More than 20 crosstalk lovers in our club practice together every week in pursuit of common progress. This term we will work harder to present more and better works to teachers and students," said Pu Chenxi, a student from the College of Life Science and Technology, with full expectations about the new term.

Those art lovers can be seen training in morning and evening. Nine o’clock in the evening, when the lights of the school building are fading, the Student Centre is illuminated as students begin their another round of training after a long day of study. In the training room, over 30 dancers were rehearsing the dance "Guardian". Li from class 2101 of Biology and Information  introduced that this dance was prepared for the exclusive show in June this year, and dancers in three dances were selected`that night. In the future, they will make efforts in choreographing the dance and strengthening basic skills for the show in June.

The Post-00s generation students are born with confident smiles; and the smiles are nourished by the art. In the charming spring, members from the China’s Han Costume Association, the Calligraphy Association and the Tour Guide Team met at the Plum Blossom Garden to enjoy the beautiful springtime with other students. They bumped into a big joy by taking photos in Han costume, taking quizzes, or painting the magnificent spring.
