Students shared freely about their opinions on topics such as academic research innovation, university plan, talent training, internship and employment, logistics and security. In response, Li kindly gave his suggestions in a timely and meticulous manner.
“What abilities should we cultivate in HZAU to better cope with future uncertainties?” When asked about personal development, Li proposed that we should keep exploring, stay curious, trigger interest to breed motivation. Besides, he also encouraged all to use university’s platforms and grasp opportunities to find a way that that can both meet personal interests and social needs. Second, we must pursue excellence and be proactive, and inspire students to be top-notch and innovative, constantly improving and expanding comprehensive ability and quality, so as to advance to the top in the field of professional knowledge and grow into outstanding talents needed by the times.
“University is not about exams. More importantly, what count is to be healthy and passionate with life.” As to the “GPA” phenomenon, Li shared with us his internship experience after graduation. At that time, he helped fellow villagers harvest wheat in the countryside in Hebei province, and discussed this topic in depth with students. “Students often lack the harsh experience, practice in particular to get closer to the society and agriculture.” In addition, according to him, students should actively experience production and practice in their spare-time outside school to increase knowledge, broaden horizons, and apply the knowledge they have learned to guide themselves to solve difficulties and problems in reality, continuously enriching what you have learned in the process to improve your practical ability, “To have different experiences in different places”. He also spoke on school curriculum that HZAU will strive to develop more various courses to meet the individual needs of students. “Provide distinctive schedule for everyone” is designed to create more practice and experience conditions to familiarize students with various situations. The ongoing Jingchu Tour of Rural Revitalization is a good practice of rural revitalization, where students can hone their skills, and realize the value of life.

As to student’s question of how to promote high-quality development in the new era, Li answered that HZAU had been working on the enhancement of the construction of first-class disciplines and excellent talent teams, strengthening the reform and innovation of first-class talent training, actively promoting the construction of first-class university culture, and building a more humanistic and comfortable open campus. In the future, the school will do its best to create more conditions to provide better environment for students to learn and grow, so that students can share their development achievements in promoting a world-class university with distinctive characteristics. He also hoped that the students would communicate sincerely with the school and work together to make HZAU a better tomorrow.
