Core Clue: A flipped classroom makes students more active and happier and gives teachers a sense of achievement. A flipped classroom requires teachers to be students-oriented and be willing to seek changes. Students should be adaptive and become a real class master. And network curriculum resources like MOOC and the curriculum center should be used.
Nowadays, it’s common to see many students playing cellphones and sleeping during class as well as being late for class. The "minimum standards" in classroom are "don't snore" or "don’t eat breakfast". Many measures have been taken to solve this problem, such as "attendance check on WeChat", "cellphone guard" and "incentive red envelopes ", but the effect seems to be very poor. Facing the new situation, many teachers in our school have been trying the method of a flipped classroom. As a result, "fresh", "group", "pre-class video" and "gains" have become the most commonly cited words among students.
The definition of "a flipped classroom" given by Baidu encyclopedia is that the teachers should rearrange the time both in and out of the classroom, where students discuss problems they’ve encountered in study during class and study basic concepts through videos, e-books or network resources before class. The most fundamental characteristics are that it has changed the traditional classroom teaching function and achieved role transition between teachers and students. Then, how to realize a flipped classroom with autonomic learning and role exchange? Teachers, students and teaching resources are the keys.
A flipped classroom requires teachers to be students-oriented and be willing to seek changes. Teachers must always put students in heart. Teachers in a flipped classroom seem to be more "low-key" than before, but there are more demands for teachers who are expected to learn flipped classroom teaching actively, to change teaching strategies, to optimize teaching plans, to redesign teaching processes and always to be students-oriented.
A flipped classroom requires students to be adaptive and become real class masters. Students must recognize the importance of learning, develop learning initiative, be active thinkers and participate in class discussions and group activities, which requires teachers to guide students to be less timid.
A flipped classroom needs to borrow strength from network curriculum resources like MOOC and curriculum centers. Platforms like MOOC in Chinese universities, Tsinghua Academy and Wisdom Tree, can provide a majority of public basic courses and general electives, and part of specialized courses.
In the cognitive model of Bloom, "memory" is the first stage of cognition, and "creation" is the highest level of cognition. A flipped classroom lets students "group" freely and "create" a new knowledge system, providing students with conditions and soil for knowledge reconstruction and internalization and truly achieving the most effective "senior" learning.
